Good Governance Secures Mutfwang Endorsement for Second Term

Leaders from various ethnic nationalities in the Middle-Belt region residing in Plateau State have praised Governor Caleb Mutfwang for his achievements and endorsed him for a second term in office, citing “genuine leadership and inclusive governance.”
During a press conference in Jos, these leaders expressed their satisfaction with the current administration.
Led by Professor Abraham Dogo, the group announced their endorsement of the governor for another term.
They acknowledged that, despite facing challenges, Governor Mutfwang has demonstrated exceptional leadership by promoting human and capital development in the state.
The leaders noted that no successive administration in Plateau State’s history has accomplished as much as Mutfwang has in his first two years.
They specifically highlighted the appointment of a Senior Special Assistant on Middle Belt ethnic nationalities affairs—an unprecedented move—and urged other governors in the region to follow suit.
“We, the leaders of over 300 ethnic nationalities from the Middle Belt, gathered here after considerable deliberation to express our utmost confidence and pass a vote of confidence in the leadership of Governor Caleb Mutfwang and his deputy, Ngo Josephine Piyo. This is due to his commitment to peace, security, infrastructural development, and inclusive governance, which have earned our highest commendation,” Professor Dogo stated.
As the Plateau State President of the Southern Kaduna People’s Union (SOKAPU), Professor Dogo mentioned that the endorsement followed a quarterly review meeting aimed at uniting the indigenous people of the Middle Belt.
Dr. Emmanuel Anonduko, Secretary General of the Gongola People’s Forum, commended Governor Mutfwang for his unifying efforts among Middle-Belt leaders.
He applauded the governor for practicing inclusive governance that transcends religious, tribal, and political affiliations, changing the perception of the state.
Dr. Anonduko assured that the Forum would engage its members in the forthcoming Continuous Voter Registration to ensure they vote for Governor Mutfwang again in 2027.
Solomon Sukukum, Secretary of the Conference of Autochthonous Ethnic Community Development Associations (CONAECDA), described Governor Mutfwang as a leader who listens and works to foster unity and understanding among Middle-Belt nationalities by giving them a voice.
Mr. Richard Audu, leader of the Nasarawa State Indigenous People in Plateau State (NASITOP), explained that the collective endorsement of Governor Mutfwang for a second term stemmed from his unwavering commitment to the welfare of Plateau and all Middle Belt residents and his developmental efforts.
He praised the governor’s initiatives in ensuring security and encouraged him to continue focusing on youth empowerment and agriculture.
Responding to the endorsement, Hon. Dan Kwada, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Mutfwang on Middle-Belt Ethnic Nationalities, remarked, “What occurred today is just a glimpse of what is to come, as this endorsement by the leaders of over 300 ethnic nationalities on the Plateau is a testament to Governor Mutfwang’s unwavering dedication to the welfare of Plateau and the Middle-Belt. His work on peace, security, infrastructural development, and inclusive governance has earned him this endorsement.”
Kwada added, “We have representatives from the Southern Kaduna People, ethnic nationalities from Nasarawa State, and others from Benue, Zuru, Borno, Taraba, and Gombe—all united to voice support for Governor Mutfwang because they have never witnessed such exemplary leadership. Governor Caleb Mutfwang has emerged as the new political leader in the Middle-Belt region, and the people will continue to look to him for guidance and direction.”
Other speakers at the event included Rev. Zakka Ahuche, leader of the Zuru People from Kebbi State, Prince David Onucheyo from the Igala community, and leaders from the Chibok and Tiv communities, all of whom pledged their continued support for Governor Mutfwang’s administration.
