CAN Commends Katsina Govt’s Directive to Recruit CRS Teachers, Others

The Katsina State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has praised Governor Dikko Umar Radda for the recent Public Notice regarding the recruitment of teachers for various subjects, including Christian Religious Knowledge (CRS), in three state-owned model schools located in Dumurkul, Jikamshi, and Radda.

In a statement issued and signed by the Katsina State CAN Secretary, Dr. Daniel Danladi Musa, on behalf of the Chairman, Very Rev. Fr. Richard Shuaibu Liti, the Association expressed its appreciation for the inclusion of CRS teachers in the recruitment.

Describing the directive as a vital step, the Association said the Association had consistently advocated for the recruitment of CRS teachers in the state to promote good morals among students.

The statement urged qualified teachers and interested candidates to seize this opportunity provided by the government.

“The advertisement from the Katsina State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, dated August 11, 2025, clearly stated that qualified individuals with the necessary qualifications to teach CRS and/or Theology should apply”

CAN emphasized that teaching CRS in schools would not only enhance the academic performance of Christian students but also contribute to their character development, making them better citizens of the state.

“We encourage Christians in the state with relevant qualifications to go online and express their interest in these job openings,” the statement read.

“We also want to put it on record that our governor has approved the disbursement of monthly stipends for all pastors in the state.

“We trust that these initiatives will be sustained beyond your second tenure in office,” CAN stated.

Checks by this medium indicates that the Katsina State Government, through the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, has issued an official communication signed by the Ministry’s Public Relations Officer, Sani Danjuma Suleiman, inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for teaching positions in the three state-owned model schools.
