Bishop Kwashi @ 70: Commemorative Events Lineup Released

Preparations are on for the commemoration of the 70th birthday of the Most Rev. Dr. Benjamin Argak Kwashi, the immediate past Archbishop of Jos Diocese of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion.

A statement signed by Dr. Hannatu G. Gabriel on behalf of the children, outlining the lineup of events, indicates that a Book Presentation and Launch will take place on September 20, 2025, at 11:00 am at Crispan Hotel and Suites, located along Rayfield Road, opposite the Air Force Boys Military School, Jos.

The statement said, “Beloved in Christ, Grace and peace be multiplied to you. It is with profound joy and heartfelt gratitude to God that we extend this invitation to you for the celebration of the 70th birthday of a distinguished servant of God, The Most Reverend Dr. Benjamin Argak Kwashi, O.O.N.

“A special event featuring the presentation and launching of a book chronicling the life and legacy of yet another unsung hero, Malam John Amos Kwashi, OFR, whose unwavering dedication laid part of the foundation for the educational development on the Plateau.”

The statement further noted that a solemn Thanksgiving Service would be held in honour of the life and ministry of the celebrant on September 28, 2025, at 8:00 am at St. Athanasius Chapel, Zambiri Chwel Nyango, Jos South LGA, Plateau State.

“Your esteemed presence at either or both of these events would be a great honour and source of encouragement as we celebrate God’s faithfulness in the life of His servant,” the statement added. Born in Amper village in present-day Kanke LGA to the family of Nde John Amos Kwashi and Mama Elsie Kwashi, both of blessed memory, Most Rev. Dr. Kwashi is the immediate past Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Jos and Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of Jos in the Church of Nigeria.
