Bingham Varsity Receives Int’l Book Donation
The management of Bingham University, Karu, Nasarawa State, has received a donation of contemporary academic books from an international partner towards improved learning and strengthening academic resources.
Receiving the donation, Vice Chancellor of Bingham University, Prof. Haruna Kuje Ayuba, expressed gratitude for the donation, describing it as a valuable contribution to teaching, learning, and research.
Prof. Ayuba added that the donation underscores the importance of academic partnerships and commended those who facilitated the donation, and assured that the university would formally acknowledge the donor through an official letter of appreciation.
The VC also disclosed that the university would assess the monetary value of the books in line with its internal evaluation processes, given the rising cost of academic publications.
Earlier in his remarks, the Director of Centre for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Leadership Studies, Dr. Sabastine Abu, who gave an insight into the source of the donation, explained that the books were donated through Bingham University’s international partnership with scholars abroad, particularly Dr. Moses Dang Emmanuel of the Teesside University International Business School, United Kingdom.
Dr. Abu added that the collaboration has enabled the university to access up-to-date academic materials published by reputable international publishers across various fields.
He expressed optimism that the recent donation, which represents the first consignment received during the break, would be followed by additional consignments in the future.
Receiving the books on behalf of the library, Bingham University Librarian, Associate Prof. Joshua Magoi, expressed deep appreciation to Dr. Abu and the donors for what he described as a meaningful and lasting gesture.
He described the donation as a demonstration of genuine support for the university library and the broader academic community and assured that the books would be properly documented and put to effective use.
