ECWA AGS URGES YOUTHS TO REMAIN DRESSED FOR SERVICE

… As Over 1,500 EYF members Converge on Abia State

ECWA youth fellowship members are strongly encouraged to stay prepared and committed to serving at all times, emphasizing the importance of being ready for God’s work.

ECWA Assistant General Secretary, Rev. Dr. Sunday Congo, threw the challenge in a sermon at the ongoing triennial conference in Obizor, Abia State.

In his sermon on the topic “Be Dressed and Ready for Service: Keep Your Lamps Burning” from Luke 12:35, the cleric urged the conference participants to embrace their calling with urgency and commitment. He emphasized that, given the fleeting nature of time, every ECWA youth needs to commit their God-given abilities to His service. He said this call cannot be overstated.

Drawing lessons from the sacrifices of early missionaries such as Thomas Kent, Walter Gowans, and Roland Bingham, the ECWA assistant scribe stated that true discipleship requires setting aside comfort for the sake of the Gospel.

He admonished the youths to diligently serve God while there is time, as according to him, “the night cometh when no one can work.”

The conference is being attended by key ECWA leaders, including the ECWA President, Rev. Dr. Job Ayuba Bagat; ECWA Vice President, Rev. Dr. Sunday Ajise; the ECWA General Secretary, Rev. Dr. Ayuba Asheshe; Assistant General Secretary, Rev. Dr. Sunday Congo; Treasurer, Elder Haruna Danjuma; some Directors and Head of units, among other dignitaries.

The conference, which serves as a platform for spiritual renewal, fellowship, and strategic planning for the mission of the church among young people, is expected to end on March 21st, 2026
