APC Grand Reception: CPC Tasks Media on Accurate Reportage

Ahead of the formal reception of Governor Caleb Mutfwang into the All-Progressives Congress scheduled for Tuesday, January 27, 2026, the Central Planning Committee has solicited the support of the citizens of the state to ensure the success of the event.
Addressing newsmen in Jos ahead of the event, Chairman of the Central Planning Committee and Member representing Wase Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase, announced that in view of the significance of the event, the Committee has been working tirelessly to “ensure a befitting, well-coordinated, and memorable grand reception for the Governor.”
Wase also disclosed that a line-up of preparatory activities are ongoing towards mobilizing support and sustaining public enthusiasm for the event.

“In addition, various sub-committees have swung into action, putting in place all necessary logistical, security, media, protocol, and crowd-management arrangements to guarantee a smooth and successful event.
“Since the inauguration of the Central Planning Committee and the official announcement of the reception date, heightened interest, anticipation, and positive anxiety have enveloped the political space. The people of Plateau State have been eagerly awaiting the D-day, underscoring the widespread acceptance and goodwill that this political realignment has generated.”
The CPC chairman, who described the political alignment as “one that signals a clear transition toward unity, inclusive leadership, and collective responsibility,” added that “This defining moment in our political evolution reflects a growing consensus that governance must transcend partisan boundaries and be firmly anchored on collaboration, stability, and the delivery of tangible dividends of democracy to the people.”

While soliciting the cooperation of the media, Hon. Wase appealed to them We also wish to specially acknowledge and seek the continued support of the media, “to give the event wide and objective publicity, and to deploy their respected platforms to promote accurate information, positive narratives, and constructive commentaries that will further strengthen public confidence and national goodwill.
“Together with the cooperation of the people and the professionalism of the media, we are confident that this historic occasion will not only be peaceful and successful, but will also mark the beginning of a new chapter of unity, development, and shared prosperity for Plateau State.”
