Gov. Mutfwang Urges Public Servants to Embrace Integrity and Quality Service

• Says his Administration is Building Institutions, not “Theatres”

Plateau State Governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has charged public servants to demonstrate gratitude to God through integrity, fairness and responsible service to the people.

The Governor gave the charge on Sunday, August 23, 2026, while serving as guest preacher at the Thanksgiving and Appreciation Service of Mrs. Margaret Peter Gai, wife of the Commissioner for Lands and Survey, at COCIN Church, Kabong, Jos North Local Government Area.

Speaking from Psalm 136, Governor Mutfwang described thanksgiving as an expression of faith and a practical demonstration of confidence in God’s enduring mercy.

He said thanksgiving to God must be reflected in daily conduct, adding that it is evident in how we live and in how believers conduct themselves.

The Governor said Mrs. Gai’s recovery from illness was a reminder of God’s power to transform difficult circumstances, and urged citizens to recognize blessings they often take for granted.

He added that testimonies could range from healing and deliverance to provision and restoration of families, stressing that “there’s nothing God cannot do.”

“Today you may look small. Today you may look little. But as you walk with God, as you continue to appreciate what God has done and is doing, you are going to see an increase in your life,” he said, noting that God can take people “from glory to glory.”

Governor Mutfwang used the occasion to task public servants, particularly staff of the Ministry of Lands and Survey, to ensure that the administration’s reforms translate into fairness, efficiency and justice for citizens.

He said his administration was focused on building sustainable systems rather than personalities.

“We are building systems. We are building institutions. We are not building theatres,” the Governor declared.

“Public institutions must continue to deliver even when those currently occupying leadership positions leave office.”

Earlier, the Commissioner for Lands and Survey, Hon. Peter Nyam Gai, expressed gratitude to God for his wife’s recovery and thanked the governor for the support given to the ministry.

Nyam Gai highlighted key reforms, including the reduction of processes required for obtaining Certificates of Occupancy from six stages to three, which he said had improved service delivery.

He disclosed that the ministry processed about 7,000 Certificates of Occupancy within three years under the Mutfwang administration, compared to about 3,000 processed previously.

The Commissioner attributed the progress to the governor’s policy direction and assured that the ministry would continue to strengthen land administration, title registration and revenue generation.

He also spoke on the ministry’s mediation mechanism for resolving land disputes, saying the initiative had helped several citizens obtain justice without prolonged litigation.

The thanksgiving service brought together government officials, church members, family and well-wishers who joined the Gai family in celebrating Mrs. Margaret Gai’s recovery.
