Plateau State Governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has sworn in newly appointed Special Advisers and Honorary Special Advisers, telling them their appointment is not a privilege to be enjoyed but a call to sacrifice, loyalty and measurable results.
The ceremony held on Tuesday, 27 October 2026 at the Victoria Gowon Hall, New Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos, Governor Mutfwang said the appointments were to strengthen governance, broaden consultation and bring additional expertise into service of the state.
“We remain steadfast in our determination to build a new Plateau — a state united in purpose, secure in its communities, just in its institutions and inclusive in its opportunities,” he said.
He charged the appointees to anchor their conduct on integrity, transparency, accountability and service to humanity, stressing that the principles must be reflected in daily decisions and engagement with citizens.

The governor tasked them with providing sound, evidence-based and timely policy advice, research, coordination of programmes, monitoring, and strengthening communication between government and the people.
Addressing the Honorary Special Advisers, the governor urged them to deploy their expertise, networks and goodwill to facilitate stakeholder engagement, identify investment opportunities and build partnerships.
On security, Mutfwang said peace remains his administration’s foremost priority, disclosing that government has reinvigorated Operation Rainbow, trained about 1,500 personnel across the state, strengthened community-based security efforts and deployed technology for surveillance and intelligence gathering.
He said the interventions are yielding encouraging results but government is determined to reduce threats to lives and property to the barest minimum.
The Governor added that investments are ongoing in healthcare, education, agriculture, energy, water supply, sanitation, urban renewal, transportation and road infrastructure, with projects ongoing across local government areas.
He warned the new aides against personal interests, rivalries and actions that undermine governance.
“The people of Plateau expect results. Every policy and public investment must be measured by its impact on the welfare, security and prosperity of our people,” he said.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a peaceful, united and prosperous state where citizens can live and work with dignity, adding: “The Time Is Now to deepen our commitment to peace, strengthen our institutions and accelerate development.”
