Plateau 2027: 17 Guber Candidates Face Apostolic Round Table

The Apostolic Round Table (ART) has invited all 17 governorship candidates for the 2027 Plateau State governorship election to present their governing roadmaps to the state’s people.
In an open letter dated October 10, 2026, ART Convener Apostle Bolaji O. Akinyemi said the invitation is part of the group’s North Central Tour, scheduled for Thursday, October 22, 2026, at the Covenant Word Christian Centre International in Jos.
The theme of the event is “Leadership and the Future of Nigeria: The Intelligence Option” with Plateau State as a case study.
According to Akinyemi, the Apostolic Round Table is a Christian sensitization platform aimed at building a Nigeria where faith produces responsibility, knowledge informs decisions and citizens participate intelligently in shaping their collective future.
He said the Jos conversation will focus on three critical sectors: Security, Education and Agriculture.
“Distinguished experts have been invited to examine the state of the nation, with particular emphasis on Plateau State, and present practical, intelligence-driven approaches to addressing the challenges in their respective sectors,” he said.

Akinyemi explained that after the experts’ presentations, participants will ask questions, followed by each governorship candidate getting five minutes to respond to the recommendations and present a proposed roadmap for Security, Education and Agriculture.
“This is an opportunity to tell the people not merely what you believe is wrong, but what you intend to do, how you propose to do it, and what outcomes they should expect from your administration,” he said.
The convener said the group decided to issue a public invitation to ensure no candidate is disadvantaged by late delivery of formal letters, given the proximity of the event.
“We extend this invitation without discrimination based on political party, ideology, incumbency or perceived electoral strength. Every candidate deserves the same courtesy, access to information and opportunity to participate,” he said.
He added that the session will be strictly issue-based and respectful, with no candidate allowed to insult or disparage another.
According to INEC’s approved list, Akinyemi said candidates are expected to confirm attendance through the event coordinators.
“The people deserve to hear the candidates’ plans for securing communities, improving education and unlocking the State’s agricultural potential. They deserve the opportunity to examine ideas, ask questions and make informed choices,” he stated.
He stressed that the ART North Central Tour is not a campaign rally nor an endorsement platform, but an invitation to reason together about leadership and the future.
“Our conviction remains that faith must become intelligent action, prayer must produce responsibility, and citizenship must become organized participation,” Akinyemi added.
