Plateau State University, Bokkos, has hosted a five-member team from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, NMCN, on a pre-accreditation visit to its Department of Nursing.

Receiving the delegation on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shadrach Gaya Best, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Associate Professor Martha Niri Choji, assured the team of the University’s full cooperation throughout the process.

Professor Best said the University has put facilities in place to support its academic programmes, noting that final approval rests with regulatory bodies including the National Universities Commission, NUC, and the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
He added that no institution can have all facilities at once, but PLASU remains committed to continuous improvement and expansion of programmes to meet educational needs and contribute to manpower development.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the Chairman, NMCN North-Central Zone, Nurse Aridi Elkana Simon, said the team is committed to working collaboratively with the University to ensure a successful accreditation.
